X-Trial returns to Leeds

The FIM X-Trial World Championship returns to the First Direct Bank Arena in Leeds on Saturday 23 January 2027 for a much-anticipated second edition. Following an inaugural contest that went down to the final obstacle, British fans will welcome the world’s best riders back for another encounter in the 2027 season.

One point made the difference

On 24 January 2026, Leeds hosted the Championship’s return to Great Britain after a ten-year absence. Toni Bou took victory by just one point over home favourite Harry Hemingway, who claimed his first World Championship X-Trial podium. Jaime Busto completed the top three.

The inaugural edition also marked George Hemingway’s Championship debut. For both brothers, returning to Leeds offers a special opportunity to shine in front of their home supporters. For Bou, the challenge will be to retain his advantage at a venue where victory proved anything but straightforward.

Eight riders and fresh challenges

Toni Bou, Gabriel Marcelli, Jaime Busto, Harry Hemingway, George Hemingway, Matteo Grattarola, Arnau Farré and Miquel Gelabert make up the announced line-up.

The riders will face a redesigned course, with half of the sections entirely new. Fresh obstacles and a crowd close to the action set the stage for a contest in which precision, control and composure will make all the difference.
